Top Safari Packing Tips
Safari’s are generally laid back, so no need to dress up in anything formal. Aim for loose fitting, comfortable and easy to wash clothing. Cotton and linen are great as they are more breathable and very comfortable.
The climate is ever changing in Africa, layering is very useful. A light fleece jacket, for example, is loose but also provides extra comfort for those chilly evenings.
During October to December, you can expect short rains. The long rains are from March to June . If visiting during these months a raincoat is recommend.
June to September, during the dry season, pack a sweaters and tops for layering as mornings and evenings can be chilly, but afternoons are often warm and sunny.
Always carry your essential items in your carry-on bag, not checked luggage.
US currency is widely accepted across Tanzania, we suggest carrying some on your person to exchange upon arrival.
Major towns in Tanzania will have ATMs and banks where you may withdraw money with a debit card (make sure to arrange with your bank before traveling).
