Mount Meru Climbing Faq's

Mount Meru is considered a challenging hike, requiring a good level of physical fitness. The final ascent to the summit is steep and exposed, demanding both endurance and technical ability.

A typical Mount Meru climb takes four days and three nights. However, it’s possible to complete the climb in three days and two nights, though this is less recommended due to the extended final day.

The dry season, from June to October, is generally considered the best time to climb Mount Meru. The weather is stable, and the views are clearer. However, the mountain can be climbed year-round.

Yes, there are two mountain huts, Miriakamba Hut and Saddle Hut, which offer basic accommodation. These huts provide shared dormitory-style sleeping arrangements.

The cost of climbing Mount Meru varies depending on the tour operator, the duration of the climb, and the level of accommodation. It typically includes permits, guides, porters, and meals.

Outstanding tour operator

I can't say enough good things about Bryson and Petit Maasai. Bryson handled our last-minute trip to Tanzania like he'd been working on it for months instead of a handful of days after we connected about a week before our family arrived.

Kilimanjaro With Petit Maasai safaris- 5 stars!!!

We book 7 days Kilimanjaro with Petit Maasai safaris after having the safari with another company and we made it with a brilliant guide to the summit. We took the Lemosho route, starting in the rain forest and approached the camp via various tents campsites.
