Your tour will start with a pick up from your Arusha or Moshi accommodations and transfer to starting point in Kilimanjaro National Park. The drive is 1 – 1.5 hrs, depending on your hotel location.

Upon arrival at Londorossi Gate, you will meet the park ranger who will lead your day hike.

The trail head of the hike begins at over 3,000 meters, near Shira Camp 1.

The length and difficulty of this day hike is determined by you and your group. Options to visit: Shira Plateau, Simba Caves, and Shira Cathedral for some epic views, and a full-day hike.

The area is incredibly bio-diverse, formed from a previous eruption of Shira Volcano.

If you’re seeking a physical challenge, aim to reach Cathedral Point which sits at 3,872 meters (12,700 feet) above sea level.

This point is on Shira Plateau, one of the highest altitude plateaus in the world.

And, is just a few meters shy of the next camp; Shira 2 Camp.

This way, you can experience what a day on Kilimanjaro would be like; trekking the distance of Shira 1 Camp up to Shira 2 Camp, which is often the second day of a true Kilimanjaro climb.

Descend back to Morum Barrier and then to Londorossi Gate for the end of the tour.

Your driver-guide will transfer you back to your area accommodations in Arusha or Moshi.
