Established in 1952, the park is named after Queen Elizabeth II and is Uganda’s most visited national park.
The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, with over 95 mammal species and more than 600 bird species recorded within its boundaries. The Best Time to Visit Queen Elizabeth National Park is during the dry seasons, from December to February and June to September. The weather is generally favourable, and wildlife congregates around water sources, making it an optimal period for game viewing and boat safaris. The dry season also ensures clearer trails for activities such as chimpanzee tracking.
While the wet seasons (March to May and October to November) bring lush greenery to the landscape, some trails may become challenging due to rainfall.
