9 Days Migration Crossing Safari (June - Oct) Overview
Witness the world’s largest migration of animals: the Great Migration across the Serengeti and over the Mara and Grumeti Rivers. It is a wonder of nature that will take your breath away.
This seasonal safari runs from June to October, the time-period of when Migration River Crossings are most likely to occur.
9 Days Migration Crossing Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, Arusha, Tanzania
Arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport. After passing through customs, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your accommodations in Arusha.
Enjoy a Tanzanian sunset and relax at your hotel or lodge for the evening.
Most international flights arrive in the late evening or at night. If you have an earlier flight, contact us in advance so we can arrange a neighborhood walk or visit to a local craft market.
{Dinner and Overnight included}

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park.
This park is famous for large herds of elephants, ancient Baobab trees and the beautiful Tarangire River, that attracts animals during the dry season.
After a full-day game drive, retire to your Manyara-area accommodations (approximately 45 min drive away)

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Spend a day at Lake Manyara National Park, viewing flamingoes and other water fowl, or the resident hippos that spend all afternoon in the water. Manyara is also home to tree-climbing lions, elephants and giraffes.
If you want to stretch a bit after you game drive, you can take a village walk into the cozy town of Mto wa Mbu (just outside the park), visit a banana plantation or rice fields as part of the community tour.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy an early breakfast, because today you will enter Ngorongoro Crater to explore the world’s largest, intact volcanic caldera and an ecosystem boasting one of the highest density of mammals on earth. It’s been called a natural bowl filled with wild animals, but that doesn’t truly capture how magical this real-life wonder is in person.
Spend the day driving along the Crater floor, then return your accommodations for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park (Central)
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park.
You’ll drive through beautiful highlands, then pass into the endless plains Serengeti is famous for. Keep your eyes open for gazelles, giraffes, zebras and other grazing animals as you drive.
You will overnight in the Seronera area of Central Serengeti this first night.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park (North)
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive as you head from Central Serengeti to the wild north, to view the river crossings.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park (North and Central)
After breakfast, begin a leisurely game drive from Northern Serengeti to Lobo Valley, meander through the Moru Kopjes, visit the Retima Hippo Pool, and then return to your Seronera-area accommodations for dinner and overnight.
This will be your last night in the Serengeti, so make sure to enjoy the sunset and stay up late around the fire.

Day 9 : Fly out of Serengeti to Arusha
For your last morning, we suggest waking up early for a sunrise game drive (the best time to see cheetahs on the hunt and capture photos of leopards in action), then heading back to your accommodations for a hot breakfast.
Afterward, you will be transported to the nearest Serengeti Airstrip for your return flight back to Arusha (approx 1 hr flight).
Option to add Zanzibar extension (flights directly from Serengeti to Zanzibar are available, ask us for more information), or to transfer to the Kilimanjaro International Aiprort for your return flight.

Our Travellers Reviews
Outstanding tour operator
I can't say enough good things about Bryson and Petit Maasai. Bryson handled our last-minute trip to Tanzania like he'd been working on it for months instead of a handful of days after we connected about a week before our family arrived.
Awsome
Exciting trip!!! Bryson made a private tour with masai mbome & we had a rest in mountains near Ngorongoro - everything was awsome!!! Morevover, all of our individual things we re made with great discount!Mike is great ranger too!
Kilimanjaro With Petit Maasai safaris- 5 stars!!!
We book 7 days Kilimanjaro with Petit Maasai safaris after having the safari with another company and we made it with a brilliant guide to the summit. We took the Lemosho route, starting in the rain forest and approached the camp via various tents campsites.
A great experience!
We did a safari in the northern parks of Tanzania with Petit Maasai Safaris and it was a great experience! The guide and the cook were really professional and nice with us, trying to make us feel comfortable and to satisfy our requests. Thanks a lot!
