8 Days Calving Season Safari

No matter if you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport directly, or have a domestic flight into Arusha Domestic Airport, a member of our team will meet you and arrange your transfer to your Arusha-area hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, begins you first safari experience at Arusha National Park. Start off your morning with a walking tour, led by a park ranger, with the chance to see buffalos, giraffes and zebras in the distance. The wal can be 1-2 hours, based on your preference.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at Tululusia Waterfalls, or overlooking the Momella Lakes, where you will spot waterfowl including flamingoes.

Continue with afternoon game drive to see “Little Serengeti” and “Ngurdoto Crater” before returning to your Arusha-Area accommodations for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. This park is famous for large herds of elephants, and the beautiful Tarangire River.

Look for predators along the river bank, as well as grazing animals such as water bucks and impalas.

In the early evening, drive along the Great Rift Valley as you head to your Karatu-area accommodations, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, head through the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area as you head to the Ndutu Plains, where the majority of the WIldebeest Calvings take place.

The drive takes approximately 3 hours, but the scenery is beautiful and wild animals may be spotted throughout.

Enjoy watching the miracle of life through afternoon, then continue to your Ndutu-area accommodations for dinner and overnight.

Plan for an early start, especially if you’re opting for the once-in-a-life-time experience of floating over the African Plains in a hot air balloon. Continue with a game drive through afternoon, then return to the Ndutu-area accommodations for a guided evening walk before dinner.

Enjoy a relaxed morning before heading from Ndutu into Southern Serengeti. Here, you will likely spot more predators such as cheetahs and lions, as well as see various ungulates as they give birth, such as; impalas, gazelles and zebras. 

Overnight at a tented camp or lodge in the Serengeti.

Start with a sunrise game drive, tthe best time to spot cheetahs, lions and leopards on the prowl. Then return to your accommodations for a hot breakfast and relaxation.

Continue with a late morning or after-lunch drive, to visit the Seronera Vistor’s Center, and see more animals in Serengeti National Park.

In the late afternoon, return to your tented camp or hotel accommodations for dinner and overnight.

Final morning in the Serengeti, make sure to wake early to catch the beautiful sunrise, and perhaps take a early morning bush walk,with a member of staff or your guide.

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti, as you transfer to your nearest bush airstrip for your return flight to Arusha.

The small, charter flight will be a type of aerial safari and a chance to view the Ngorongoro Highlands and Great Rift Valley from above. 

You may pair this safari itinerary with 3 days excursion in Zanzibar, or continue to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight.
