The best of Rwanda, condensed into six days. For travelers who want the once-in-a-
lifetime experiences only found in Rwanda, this is the safari tour for you. Trek with wild
gorillas, hike in the majestic hills of Rwanda and enjoy a traditional game drive to view
Africa’s famous wildlife.
6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival-Kigali
Pick up from Kigali Airport and transfer to a nearby, urban hotel for dinner and overnight. You
will have a short safari briefing and an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Akagera National Park
After breakfast drive to Akagera National Park (Approx 2.5 hrs). After registration at the main
gate, you will head to your hotel for a hot lunch, then continue with a game drive until late
afternoon/evening. Our preferred accommodation in this area is the Ruzizi Tented Lodge which
has an incredible view overlooking Lake Ihema.
Full Board.
Day 3: Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy a the morning in Akagera National Park. Take a boat tour on Lake Ihema or take a guided
walk with a park ranger.
This is one of the best locations to see lions, elephants, rhinos and leopards in Rwanda.
After lunch, begin drive to Volcanoes National Park (approx 5 hrs drive). You will stay overnight
at a stunning lodge just outside of the park. Our preferred accommodation is Tiloreza Lodge.

Day 4: Volcanoes National Park, Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast, enter Volcanoes National Park for briefing and gorilla tracking. Walk
with the amazing gentle giants in the wild for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Spend the day in
the forest with mountain gorillas, picnic lunch and return to your lodge around sunset.
Dinner and Overnight at Tiloreza Lodge or other nearby accommodations.
Full Board.
Day 5: Volcanoes National Park, Golden Monkey Trekking
Another fully day in Volcanoes National Park, this time following another primate group; the
amazing golden monkeys. Spend the day hiking in the mountain forests with incredible views of
the volcanoes of Volcanoes National Park.
Return to Tiloreza Lodge (or other accommodations) for dinnera nd overnight.
Full Board.
Day 6: Departure
The final day of the tour. After breakfast, drive to Kigali for your return flight (or ongoing
journey). The drive is appoximately 2 hrs.
If you have time before your flight you may add a visit to the Rwanda Genocide Museum, or enjoy a city
tour with some local Kigali art galleries. Contact us to learn more.
