5 Days Rwanda Primate Safaris
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will meet our representative who will take you to your area hotel (we prefer the Kigali Serena Hotel). Have a quick briefing and enjoy a relaxing afternoon/evening.
Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Depart for Chimpanzee Tracking at Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart for the amazing Nyungwe Forest (approx 3 hrs drive) for Chimp
Trekking in one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests. Enjoy a canopy walk and picnic lunch at a waterfall. This day is spent in nature, exploring the forest and following chimpanzees.
Dinner and overnight at a nearby lodge.
Full Board.
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking at Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, begin the drive to Volcanoes National Park. While it is a longer drive this day (approx 5 hours), it is through some of the most stunning scenery in Rwanda; rolling green hills and forested areas.
Alternatively, you may consider a charter flight or a helicopter ride (approx 45 min) to tavel between these two national parks even faster.

Upon arrival, attend a briefing for Gorilla Trekking with a park ranger and enjoy a late afternoon hike in the park.
Dinner and Overnight at your accommodation (we prefer Singita Kwitonda Lodge).

Day 4: Full Day Gorilla Tracking at Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, head out to experience walking in the wild with gorillas. Be awed by nature and thrilled by these gentle giants as you see them in their own habitat.
Enjoy a late afternoon game drive in the park, with a chance to see golden monkeys, forest
elephants and rare bird species or continue gorilla trekking until evening.
Dinner and overnight at Singita Kwitonda Lodge, or other nearby accommodations.
Full Board.
Day 5: Departure
This is the final day of your primate safari tour in Rwanda. After breakfast, begin the drive
to Kigali (approx 3 hrs). Depending on the time of your departure flight, you may take a few
hours to reflect at the Rwanda Genocide Museum.
Your driver/guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight home or onward journey.
