5 Days Kenya Migration Safari Overview

The kenya migration safari highlights the annual maasai mara migration. While it generally occurs between july- october each year, it is always exciting to be in the active maasai mara and witness the power of nature.

This tour focuses on visiting the maasai mara for four days, with an option to fly in/out instead of driving from nairobi.

Day By Day

5 Days Kenya Migration Safari Itinerary

Upon Arrival At Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your nairobi hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening or explore the city. If you arrive early, you could visit a local art gallery or try some famous kenyan barbeque.

Bed and breakfast.

 

After breakfast and a short briefing with your driver-guide, depart on your safari to the Maasai Mara. The drive takes approximately 5 hours over beautiful landscapes, and you should arrive at your accommodation in time for a hot lunch, or pack a picnic lunch to head straight for a game drive.

The Maasai Mara is famous for predators such as lions and leopards and herds of ungulates, including zebras and wildebeests. Spend the afternoon viewing before returning to your accommodations for a lovely sunset or an evening swim.

Full board.

 

After an early breakfast, head to mara river for migration viewing. Let the sheer number of animals take your breath away and be in awe of the power of nature as you photograph the wonder that is the annual river crossing. Enjoy a picnic lunch and wildlife viewing until sunset. Full board.
Spend the day trailing the wildebeest migration and searching for elephants, buffalo, and predators like lions from morning to afternoon. You may consider retiring early to your lodge to enjoy the swimming pool or other amenities or continue wildlife viewing until evening. Option to book an early morning hot air balloon ride to sail overtop the area and get an aerial safari to remember! Must book in advance, so contact us for details. Full board.
After breakfast, return to nairobi. Option to fly back (landing in wilson airport) or to drive to nairobi (approximately 5 hrs). This concludes the kenya migration safari tour, but you may consider a zanzibar extension to add a breach holiday in the indian ocean for a full east african experience. Breakfast and lunch provided.
