10 Days Best of Northern Circuit

Arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport. After passing through customs, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your accommodations in Moshi. 

Enjoy a Tanzanian sunset and relax at your hotel or lodge for the evening.

Most international flights arrive in the late evening or at night. If you have an earlier flight, contact us in advance so we can arrange a neighborhood walk or banana farm or local rice patty tour.

After breakfast, drive to Mkomazi National Park – home to Tanzania’s first and only Black Rhino Sanctuary, working to protect this species and bring it back from the brink of extinction.

The drive takes approximately 3.5 hrs and drives alongside the beautiful Eastern Arc Mountains.

Animals you might see in Mkomazi National Park include giraffes, elephants, zebras and ostriches. Enter the protected Rhino Sanctuary to see Black Rhinos.

Enjoy a second day exploring Mkomazi National Park. Drive to the southern end of the park and see the African Painted Dog (Wild Dog) project. This is a unique conservation effort working to encourage breeding and inoculating the wild dogs against disease that threaten to wipe them out, across the continent.

Retire to your camp or lodge in the early evening to enjoy a stunning sunset and take in the glorious night sky in this location.

After breaktfast, depart Mkomazi and head to West Kilimanjaro. You should arrive in time for a hot lunch and a walking tour of the area.

Options include: local village walk or hike to the river.

Retire to your lodge for dinner/overnight. Depending on accommodation, there may be evening entertainment.

Depart in the early morning for a day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro. Your hike to Shira Plateau can take 4 hours or longer, depending on your interest in visiting Shira Caves and other areas.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch with an incredible view, on Africa’s highest mountain.

Hike back down and meet your vehicle at the trail head, drive back to accommodation in West Kilimanjaro.

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for an exciting game drive.

Tarangire National Park is known for it’s large herds of elephants and the lovely Tarangire River, which attracts an array of animals during the dry season.

Overnight in Tarangire National Park, either at a beautiful lodge with a breathtaking view, or camping in the wild for a thrilling experience.

Enjoy a half-day game drive in Tarangire National Park until lunch time. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the park gate, and climb up to the observation deck.

After, drive along the mesmerizing Great Rift Valley for dinner and overnight at lovely accommodations in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Start off early in the morning with a visit to the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a morning drive along the Crater floor, looking for lions, herds of zebras and wildebeest and wild Black Rhino.

After lunch at the hippo pool, drive up and out of the Crater and continue toward Serengeti National Park. The drive is scenic, with opportunities for animal sightings along the way.

You should arrive in Serengeti in time for sunset at your Seronera-area accommodations.

Enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park, with options to drive through Seronera area  (known for resident herds of grazing animals), or Lobo Valley, the “Big Cat Capitol” of Tanzania for chances to spot lions and leopards in the wild.

Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy a leisurely morning at your Serengeti accommodations, or head out for a sunrise game drive and then back for a hot breakfast, before driving to the Seronera Airstrip.

Fly directly to Arusha Airport for your onward journey, or add a Zanzibar each Holiday.
